Our work

Fresh mat, clean edges — across all four metros

Recent driveways, lots, roads, and courts — tagged by city across all four metros.

How an Origin install works

Four steps, done by spec

Skip a step and pavement fails early. We don't skip steps — and we roll the mat while it's still above temperature spec.

  1. 01

    Tear-out & grading

We remove the failed surface and grade the subgrade for slope, so water runs off instead of pooling.

  2. 02

    Stone base

A compacted aggregate base — typically 6 inches — gives the asphalt a stable, load-bearing foundation.

  3. 03

    Two-lift hot-mix

Hot-mix asphalt goes down in two compacted lifts for a denser, longer-lasting surface than a single pour.

  4. 04

    Edge, roll & cure

We edge and roll the mat at temperature, then walk you through the 72-hour cure before you drive on it.

Common questions

Straight answers, before you call

How much does it cost to pave a driveway?

Installed asphalt typically runs about $7–$13 per square foot, with an average residential project landing around $5,000. Size, base condition, and access all move the number — which is why we quote on-site rather than over the phone.

Asphalt or concrete — which is better for a driveway?

Asphalt costs less up front, handles freeze-thaw without cracking as readily, and is easy to resurface. Concrete lasts longer and suits decorative finishes. For most Carolina driveways, asphalt is the better value — and we'll tell you honestly if your site is an exception.

How long does an asphalt driveway last?

15 to 25 years when it's installed on a proper base and maintained. Sealcoating every 2–3 years and sealing cracks early are what push it toward the longer end of that range.

How long before I can drive on new asphalt?

Plan on 72 hours before driving, and a few weeks before parking in the same spot every day or turning sharply. We walk you through the full cure schedule when the crew wraps up.

When should I sealcoat — and how soon after paving?

Wait 6–12 months for new asphalt to cure before the first sealcoat, then reapply every 2–3 years. Spring through fall is the season; the surface needs warm, dry days to cure properly.

How often should a parking lot be re-striped?

Most commercial lots are re-striped every 1–2 years, sooner in high-traffic retail. We can fold striping into a maintenance plan so it stays crisp and ADA-compliant without you tracking it.
